When I was designing Death, I knew I wanted a disabled character, and she would fit nicely in that role. Trouble is, 117 years in the future, what disabilities will still be unfixed? I eventually came up with missing limbs. I think we’ll have realistic prosthetics by then, but they’ll still be prosthetics. I doubt we’ll be re-growing limbs perfectly within that time, considering all the new bones and muscles you’d need.

ALSO- this will be the last Thursday comic of this year. Next Thursday is Thanksgiving here in the US, and every week after that has always been busy, so I always put the comic into half-hibernation for the Christmas season. I’ll still be updating on Mondays. When 2011 rolls around, we’ll be back to Mondays and Thursdays.

Remember, there won’t be a comic this Thursday because of Thanksgiving in the United States, and I’ll be updating Mondays-only through December.

While inking, I listened to alternative rock versions of various theme songs like Laverne & Shirley and The Golden Girls. Stay Tuned is a cool band, heh. You can listen to their music here.

As I watched the first Superman movie(with Christopher Reeve), I kept asking myself over and over, “How is it even possible for Superman to hold Lois like that while flying?”. I’m very sure that Lois doesn’t get flying powers while she’s touching Superman. At one point, he’s only holding on to her hand while both her hands are outstretched. The day I wrote this idea down(last Thursday), the news anchor told us that after the commercials, they were going to show us how one news station passed the time while they were snowed-in at the studio… as they showed video of that news crew skating across their parking lot. I’d say this is where I got the idea, except for the fact that I’ve seen them do things like this frequently.

I skipped Monday’s update because I got no sleep the night before & I simply couldn’t stay awake to finish scripting this comic. This time, I got 4.5 hours of sleep the night before & was tired again, but I had the advantage of a head start from Sunday & a head start Wednesday. Normally I start completely at midnight on the update day. So, a little earlier than usual. Yay!

The bright side of skipping Monday’s update, besides actually getting enough sleep and not missing work?: I don’t have to push forward the construction of my most ambitious 3D set like I was fearing. Not a huge difference, but I got more planning in. Still need to build the dang thing though.
