“Why won’t this guy play fetch with me?!”

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8DiOthAKek

I hope the sculptor sees this. He/she’d be flattered.

Also, I’m trying a plugin for YouTube embedding. After sharing several videos on this site, I realized I needed to streamline the process and fix a few issues I had with plain embedding. WP YouTube Lyte loads an image placeholder of the video which is compatible with rss feeds(I was customizing the code each time to work with them), doesn’t interfere with the Wibiya toolbar(videos covered the bar even when not playing), and simply loads faster. If the video isn’t watched, Flash is never loaded. People with slow computers can rejoice.

This looks like a good movie

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CloKbXtD28

I found this right after today’s post went up, and next Friday’s post was already booked, so I’m just making today a double-post day because this can’t wait. I figured I’d schedule this for mid-day just to space things out a little & get the Twitter post out when people are actually awake.

Don’t forget to share!

I’ve noticed that most of the Kenny Chronicles comics on StumbleUpon are rather old, so I’d just like to remind everybody that sharing the comic on social media sites is definitely encouraged*. I know that it’s kinda lame to actually ASK people to share the comic, but isn’t an ad for Coke simply them asking us to buy their product? The idea is to make sure people think of Coke, or in this case, using the buttons that I’ve provided a handy graphic of using extra-lame 1990’s 16-color gif technology for comic relief.

Isn’t retro great? Anyway, those buttons provide the corresponding social media site with that specific post’s address, even if it’s on the home page. That last button, the one that looks like a series of crop circles in a field of illegal substances, slides out a menu with even more options if you prefer a different site, like Menéame or MySpace. There’s a search tool on it too, because even the obscure social media sites can bring traffic.

So yeah, this is just me making sure you don’t forget to use those handy buttons. They really do make sharing easy.

*Preferably only the best ones, the ones that someone who’s never read the comic before could enjoy. I do try to aim each comic for newcomers, though, so that shouldn’t be too hard.

Benny Hill On The Electric Guitar (this totally rocks)

A review of Visioneers

So I got a Redbox code for a free rental, so I stopped by a Redbox to see what might be worth watching. I saw a picture of a bearded guy in front of a smiley face, with the eyes placed kinda like Mickey Mouse ears. Most interesting-looking movie promo image in the selection. I read the info. It’s about a guy who has a boring life working at a very prosperous job, and he must bring some excitement to his life. It’s a comedy starring Zach Galifianakis, a comedian I’m pretty sure I’ve heard the acts of and enjoyed, but I have no idea what stuff of his I heard. With no internet handy to read reviews, I went on the cover art & description alone, which sounded promising. I really felt like I needed a comedy, anyway.

I watched the first 30 minutes of this movie and had to stop. Utterly boring! How is this a COMEDY?! I decided to then check reviews. Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 70%, which is 4% below Pixar’s Cars, which I liked somewhat. The reviews were mixed. I decided to take the plunge and see if it would actually get good, although no movie should go 30 minutes without being good. It got better. It finally got to…. “watchable”. I shall rate it no higher than that because it’s absolutely boring, and yet it’s not helping me get to sleep either. I couldn’t help thinking of what it was like in the theater during this movie, but Wikipedia says it was direct-to-DVD. I’m not surprised. I did think that a Riff Trax(from the guys of Mystery Science Theater 3000 & is pretty much the same thing without the sidestory & robots) might be good for this movie, and I couldn’t help blurting out a few cynicisms, but there’s no Riff Trax on this movie and I’m not about to make one. It takes multiple watchings of the movie to come up with funny things to say, and helps to have multiple people. I now respect the Riff Trax/MST3000 guys more because I realize how much torture it would be to sit through horrible movies multiple times.

The proper genre for Visioneers is “Boring Satire”, right next to Starship Troopers. ST was a satire against government, war, and manipulation. Visioneers is a satire against being a boring bored boredy-pants cog in the machine. It showed the cogginess too much. They managed to make exploding humans boring, how ’bout that?

Oh and placing the smiley face eyes to look like Mickey Mouse ears? THE most disappointing false expectation of the film. Probably wasn’t an intentional look, but I did expect some parody of Disney somewhere or some reference to Imagineers, the people who create the Disney theme park attractions. No such luck.

My Little Ponies Perform This Way

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIq7P0jBfRQ

Yes, I post a lot of ponies. I’m also a fan of Weird Al. As well, Born This Way is the only Lady Gaga song I’ve liked so far. I never considered how many scenes go well with these lyrics. I forgot there were even any bees in the show!

Kenny Chronicles store GRAND OPENING!

It’s finally here. The Kenny Chronicles store.
I hope to have some more Death With A Spork items soon, but other than that, the store is now finished! If there seems to be anything missing, please let me know. I plan to keep expanding the store as time goes on.

A Weird Al tribute album! This rocks!

GREAT tribute album! Harry Potter fans MUST listen to “Dumbledore”, a parody of “Hardware Store”.
Bloody brilliant.

From this FuMP post:

Proceeds from the album go to aid the Weird Al Star Fund and Make the Rock Hall Weird, organizations geared towards getting Al a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and to get him inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! (Proceeds also go to the artists, the producers, and Weird Al’s publisher.)

There are many ways to buy this thing. Pick the one to your liking!
Physical CD (PayPal)
iTunes
BandCamp (digital download in any format you like)
CDBaby (digital download, physical CDs in stock soon)

You can stream all the songs for free on the Bandcamp page.

Plus: it’s Weird Al approved!

ALSO! Weird Al’s next official album hits stores on June 21st! Click the Alfred below for info & track listing on Amazon.com!

You can pre-order it from that link, but be sure to choose 2-day shipping if you want it ON the release day. While clicking the link sends a small amount my way, I personally recommend buying it at a local store to ensure that there’s no waiting & to avoid shipping costs. Then again, if you can’t get to a store on Tuesday and must have it that morning, extra shipping could be worth it.

Any questions needing answered about the comic?

In the summer of 2009, I asked if there were any questions that needed answered, and this summer I feel I should ask again. If there’s anything confusing, any loose ends, or even just a wondering, let me know! As far as I know, there are no loose ends besides what’s coming up, so I just want to be sure. Am I forgetting anything?

Yes, that robot will return. I’m having trouble remembering to use him in comics because the story is focusing so much on Kenny, Death and Guy currently.

I’m glad to get Kenny graduated, because none of the plot was happening in school anyway.

Weird Al’s Newest Video (hilarious, and slightly creepy!)

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ss_BmTGv43M
When I heard the song before the video was released, I smiled. When I saw the video, I was laughing like crazy! “Perform This Way” is a parody of Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way”, if you didn’t know. Also if you didn’t know, that’s not actually Weird Al’s body.

ALSO if you didn’t know, Weird Al’s new album, ALPOCALYPSE, was released on Tuesday. It even includes a bonus DVD of some music videos!

Woof! Woof! Woo- uh- meow? Meow?

Hey, kitty. Don’t be ashamed of being bilingual!
